About Hakomi
Hakomi is a method for studying our own experience as it happens. We slow down, turn attention inward, and notice what is here.
It might be a sensation, a feeling, an image, a familiar thought, or a memory.
Much of how we move through life runs on habits and beliefs formed long ago that we rarely question or even notice. Hakomi gives us a gentle way to see them and perhaps bring more options to how we live.

In a session
Noticing
I pay attention to what you say and how you say it, including breath, posture, and gesture. Sometimes I name something I notice.
Small experiments
Sometimes we try a small experiment: you settle into noticing, I offer a simple phrase, and we see what happens.
Your choice
You decide what to try, and you can stop at any time.

Loving presence
Underneath it all is what Hakomi calls loving presence: steady, warm, nonjudgmental attention.
The details
Hakomi sessions are a mindfulness-based practice for exploring your own experience. They do not involve ketamine or any medication, and they are not a replacement for care from your own doctor, therapist, or psychiatrist. If you are in crisis, call or text 988, or call 911.
