The path, step by step

What to expect

This is how working together usually goes, from your first message to your last session. You can pause, ask questions, or decide it is not the right fit at any step.

Hakomi sessions without ketamine work differently. There is no medical intake. Learn about Hakomi sessions →

  1. Reach out

Use the contact form. A sentence or two is plenty. Please do not include medical details yet. I will write back within one to three days.

  2. A 10-minute call

A short phone call. It is free. You tell me what brings you here, and I tell you how I work.

  3. Intake forms

If we decide to go ahead, I will send secure forms about your health history, your medications, and what you would like to explore. We will arrange billing and schedule your medical intake.

  4. Medical intake & preparation

You watch a short video about ketamine and how sessions work. Then we meet by video to go over your health history and medications and to answer any questions.

Sometimes I will ask you to check with your own doctor or psychiatrist first. Sometimes ketamine is not the right choice, and I will tell you plainly.

    Safety questions in the FAQ

    Working with a therapist

For some people, having a therapist alongside this work can be very supportive. If your screening suggests that is true for you, we will talk about it. If you already see a therapist, they are welcome to be involved. If you choose Ketamine Assisted Therapy with a therapist present, I will talk with that therapist before your session. I also know several therapists specially trained in Ketamine Assisted Therapy that I can recommend.

Ketamine Assisted Hakomi Sessions include at least one 50-minute Hakomi preparation session with no medicine. We practice mindful noticing together first.

  5. Dosing sessions

Sessions take place in a private room at Dr. Ellie Windsor's practice, 2929 Loma Vista Road, Suite F, Ventura. A session lasts about two and a half to three hours. Who is in the room depends on the option you choose.

    Ketamine Assisted Therapy

    With a therapist present

Your therapist is in the room with you. I give the medicine and stay with you for at least 15 to 30 minutes after the dose. Then I remain in the clinic, available throughout.

    Ketamine Assisted Therapy

    With a physician present

I am in the room the whole session.

    Hakomi

    Ketamine Assisted Hakomi Sessions

I am in the room the whole session, and we use the way of working we practiced in preparation.

    Before a session

    • Please do not eat for 4 hours.
    • Avoid alcohol and recreational substances that day.
    • You will need a ride home.
    • Please do not drive until the next morning.

Three sessions are suggested as a starting point, but that is not required. After that, we decide together.

  6. Integration

Integration means taking time after a session to make sense of what came up and to notice what is different, if anything.

You can integrate with your own therapist or support person. If you do not have one, I can suggest some. With Ketamine Assisted Hakomi Sessions, we do 50-minute integration sessions together.
